Marcou Returns from Loan, Helmbrecht Released

Greenville, SC: Today the Road Warriors announced defenseman Mike Marcou has returned from loan with the San Antiono Rampage and defenseman Ricky Helmbrecht has been released.

Marcou, 22, played in two games with the Rampage earning a +2 rating. The first-year defenseman scored six goals and collected 16 assists in 47 games played with the Road Warriors this season. The UMass-Amherst product leads all Road Warriors' defensemen in points. Marcou hails from Kings Park, New York.

Helmbrecht, 27, appeared in two games with Greenville this past weekend. He was signed last Thursday after playing the majority of the year in Southern Professional Hockey League with the Knoxville Ice Bears. The Odessa, Texas native also had a three game stint with the Cincinnati Cyclones this year but did not amass any points.
