Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Sunday Afternoon in Gwinnett: The Cyclones erased a two-goal third period deficit and rallied to beat the Gladiators by a 3-2 final score in front of 4,515 at Gwinnett Center. It was the second time in as-many nights that they came from behind to earn a victory. Rookie Trevor Lewis potted his first career game-winning goal.
About Saturday Night in Greenville: Mike Embach's goal in the sixth round of the shootout lifted the Cyclones to an exhilarating 4-3 win over the Road Warriors in front of 6,825 at BI-LO Center. With the victory, combined with a Toledo defeat, Cincinnati regained sole possession of first place in the North Division standings. Brian Foster made a season-high 45 saves to earn his club-record 41st win in a Cyclones jersey.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Home Sweet Home: After a perfect weekend down South, the Cyclones return for a four-game home stand beginning tomorrow night against the Fort Wayne Komets. After that divisional tussle, Cincinnati will welcome the Trenton Titans to 100 Broadway for back-to-back games this weekend. Friday's tilt will feature a Kids Eat FREE Night followed by Cyclones Bowl and Spoon Night on Saturday.
A Record Breaking Weekend for Foster: Cyclones netminder Brian Foster earned his 41st win with the club on Saturday in Greenville, giving him the club's all-time lead in goalie wins. He passed Cyclones alumni (and NHL'er) Cedrick Desjardins. With the Cyclones, Foster has amassed a 42-23-7 record.
Speaking of Milestones: Cincinnati defenseman Taylor Ellington played in his 200th professional game on Sunday in Gwinnett. Now in his fourth year pro, he has collected 82 points (23g, 59a) and 185 penalty minutes. He leads all Cyclones defensemen and is fourth among all ECHL rear guards in scoring (27 points).
Cardiac Kids: While it's not ideal to need comebacks, the Cyclones have become experts in this category. After a pair of rally-style wins over the weekend, they now have 10 this season. They're on pace to have 15 such victories this season.
Pacan on the Rise: Cyclones rookie David Pacan had another strong weekend and remains among the league's top first year players. He has collected a team-leading 39 points (11g, 28a) and ranks fourth among ECHL rookies. What's even more impressive, he's posted these numbers in seven fewer games than any of the players above him.
Coors Light Jarrod Skalde Show TONIGHT: Join us from 7-8pm at the Tap House Grill for another week of hockey conversation with Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde and Voice of the Cyclones Nick Brunker. Enjoy great food and Coors Light beer specials as we chat about what's coming up in Puckopolis! Plus, rookie defenseman Josh McFadden and forward Andre Bouvet-Morrissette stop by to visit and sign autographs!
