MONTREAL - Montreal Impact striker Marco Di Vaio was named MLS Player of the Week for the 13th week of action in MLS on Tuesday. Di Vaio scored a treble for the Impact during the first 30 minutes of his team's 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, at Stade Saputo. He was also voted by supporters as the Videotron Player of the Game after the match.

With his hat trick, Di Vaio is now tied with the Union's Jack McInerney for the league lead in scoring on nine goals from just 11 games. Di Vaio is also tops in MLS with 23 shots on goal, seventh with 38 total shots and tied for ninth with two game-winning goals.

The Impact forward has scored in all six of the team's home games this season in MLS. He's also scored two goals and added two assists in two Amway Canadian Championship games.

This marks the second time an Impact player earns this honour in MLS after Patrice Bernier for weeks 13-15 in 2012.

Following a close vote by the North American Soccer Reporters, Di Vaio was favoured over fellow striker Robbie Keane of the LA Galaxy, who also scored three goals in his team's 4-0 win over the Seattle Sounders FC.

Di Vaio has been named to the MLSSoccer.com's Team of the Week on two occasions this season and was twice nominated for Goal of the Week in MLS. His third goal against Philadelphia is up for the same honour this week.
