San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski and midfielder Jackson Yueill are among 25 players called by U.S. Men's National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter to participate in a nearly month-long training stint.
The USMNT will train and play closed-door scrimmages from Jan. 5-25 at the Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar, before returning to Los Angeles to face Concacaf rival Costa Rica on Feb. 1 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
Marcinkowski, 22, signed a Homegrown Player contract with San Jose prior to the 2018 season. He has since made five MLS appearances and 40 USL Championship appearances while on loan with Reno 1868 FC. He has earned numerous accolades over his first two professional seasons, including being named Reno's Rookie of the Year in 2018 and the USL Championship Player of the Week for Week 31 of the 2019 season.
Yueill, 22, had a breakout season for San Jose in 2019, setting single-season career-highs in appearances (32), starts (29), goals (3) and assists (5), while being named to the MLS Team of the Week on three occasions. Just finishing his third pro season out of UCLA, Yueill has registered three goals and nine assists in 66 total MLS appearances. He has made four prior appearances for the USMNT.
Marcinkowski and Yueill are both age-eligible to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, should the U.S. qualify.
