Bradenton Marauders News Release

FORT MYERS, FL - The Bradenton Marauders, class A-Advanced affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, saw their Minor League leading nine game winning streak come to a close Tuesday, falling 6-3 to the Fort Myers Miracle at Hammond Stadium.

Fort Myers drew first blood in the game, scoring in the first on a walk to Aaron Hicks and a double by Oswaldo Arcia. The Marauders answered in the second, utilizing one of their two Major League rehabbers for the night. Designated Hitter Chase d'Arnaud belted a homerun with one out in the second to tie it at one.

The Marauders took the lead in the fourth inning with an RBI single from Adalberto Santos, but Fort Myers answered right back with a Steven Liddle sacrifice fly in the bottom of the frame. The back and forth rocked with Bradenton going up 3-2 in the fifth on a sac fly from Ramon Cabrera. That was the last time the Marauders would score.

In the bottom of the fifth the Miracle got to Marauders starter Brandon Cumpton. With one out Nick Romero and Hicks reached ahead of an Arcia double. Romero scored on the hit and Hicks on an error that would have ended the inning three batters later.

Fort Myers added insurance in the seventh with back-to-back homeruns by Arcia and Josmil Pinto.

The win went to Tom Stuifbergen. The righty went seven strong for Fort Myers without walking a batter. In fact no Bradenton batter walked for the first time since April 19th against the Jupiter Hammerheads. The loss was Cumpton's. Bruce Pugh took his 13th save.

The Marauders and Miracle tango again from Fort Myers at 7:05 Wednesday. Coverage begins at 6:50 on 1280-AM WTMY, the Sports Fanatic. For more information head over to BradentonMarauders.com.
