Bradenton Marauders News Release
Bradenton, FL - The Bradenton Marauders (3-7) fell behind 6-0 and could not climb all the way back in a 7-4 loss to the Lakeland Flying Tigers (5-5) on Saturday night at McKechnie Field. The first three batters of the fourth inning doubled off RHP Austin Coley (L, 0-2) and the inning spiraled into a six-run frame.
The Marauders rallied to chase Lakeland starter Artie Lewicki (W, 1-1) in the sixth. SS Kevin Newman started the inning with his third single of the game. Dh Kevin Kramer followed with a walk. An infield single by 3B Connor Joe loaded the bases. The rally was nearly quelled by a 6-4-3 double play that resulted in a run scoring, but 3B Jordan Luplow followed with an RBI single to trim the lead to 6-2. Johan Belisario relieved Lewicki and surrendered a run-scoring double to RF Michael Suchy, but Suchy was thrown out at third to end the inning as he tried to stretch the hit.
Lakeland added a run in the seventh to extend their lead to four. Bradenton established the final margin when 2B Pablo Reyes launched a solo home run with one out in the ninth off Edgar De La Rosa.
