VIERA, Fla. - Reliever Corey Taylor got out of a jam in the ninth and the St. Lucie Mets edged the Brevard County Manatees 3-2 on Saturday at Space Coast Stadium.

The Manatees hit two singles off of Taylor in the ninth and they had runners at the corners with one out. Taylor snuffed out the potential rally by striking out Taylor Brennan and getting Jose Cuas to pop out to Luis Guillorme at second to end the game.

Taylor earned his second save and extended his scoreless innings streak to start the season.

The Mets entered the fifth down 2-1. Guillorme started the frame with a single and went to third when Amed Rosario followed with a double. Michael Katz hit a deep RBI sac fly to center to bring in Guillorme and tie the game. Rosario advanced to third.

A night after striking out 16 batters, four Mets pitching combined to strike out 12 more Manatees. Starter Ricky Knapp overcame a shaky start to limit the Manatees to two runs over five innings. He got the win.
