Manitoba Moose News Release

HAVING THEIR NUMBER:

Eric Comrie had a big week for the Moose helping the team earn points in consecutive games. He improved his record against the Admirals to 2-0-1 this season and has an incredible .931 save percentage and a 2.27 goals against average in those games.

SEASON FIRSTS:

The Moose had a few season firsts this past week. Matt Fraser, Julian Melchiori and Josh Morrissey each scored their first goals of the season this past weekend. The team also had a first this weekend as they won their first game after their opponent scored the opening goal of the game. They were 0-12-1-0 when surrendering the first goal prior to Saturday's game against Milwaukee.

HAPPY TO BE HOME:

The Moose have shown a growing comfort at the MTS Centre. The team is now 3-1-0-1 in their last five games at home. In addition when the Moose have not won at home their margin of defeat has been just one goal in each game. The confidence at home will be key for the team moving forward as 10 of their next 12 games will be at the MTS Centre. An important stretch at home will happen right after the holiday break as the Moose will play eight home games in fourteen nights before heading on a lengthy road trip in the new year.

RETURN OF ARMIA:

Forward Joel Armia made his return to the Moose lineup after spending the last couple of weeks up with the Winnipeg Jets. Armia was re-assigned to the Moose on Saturday morning and played his first game later that day and was a plus-two with a shot on goal in his first game back. He followed that on Sunday with a strong performance in the rematch where he registered an assist.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS:

The Moose held their Teddy Bear Toss presented by Red River Co-op on Saturday. A total of 2,330 stuffed toys made their way onto the ice during the first intermission which was a new Moose record for the total collected. In addition to the stuffed toys donated there was also a total of $2,050 raised for the Christmas Cheer Board. The proceeds will all go to help those in need in our community this holiday season.
