Wolf Pack Summon Two Blueliners from Greenville

HARTFORD - Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has recalled defenseman Kodie Curran from its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and has signed fellow blueliner Sean Escobedo to a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.

Curran, a rookie out of the University of Calgary (Canada West Universities Athletic Association), has skated in 25 games this season for Greenville and has totaled three goals and ten assists for 13 points, along with 14 penalty minutes and a +3. The 6-2, 205-pound Curran is tied for the Swamp Rabbit team lead in assists among defensemen, and tied for second overall on the team, and stands second among defensemen in points and goals.

A 25-year-old native of Calgary, Alta., Curran was signed to an AHL contract by the Wolf Pack June 16. He suited up for two games last season for the Wolf Pack at the conclusion of his University career, and had one assist. In action with the University of Calgary, Curran led all CWUAA blueliners in points, goals and assists in 2014-15, with 8-16-24 in 23 games.

Escobedo, a 25-year-old third-year pro, has 11 points in 26 games with Greenville, with one goal and ten assists. His assist total ties him for tops among Swamp Rabbit defensemen, and for second on the club overall, and he has also totaled 24 penalty minutes and has an Even plus/minus rating.

Last season Escobedo, a 6-1, 205-pound product of Boston University from Bayside, NY, was scoreless in two games with the Wolf Pack and had a goal and two assists for three points in two games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. In ECHL action with Greenville in 2014-15, Escobedo amassed 3-16-19, along with 37 PIM, in 61 games. He also played one ECHL game with Bridgeport in 2013-14, up from Stockton of the ECHL.

The Wolf Pack's next action is this Friday, December 18, when they continue a stretch of five straight road games with a visit to Rochester to take on the Americans. The Wolf Pack's next home game is Tuesday, December 29, when the Wolf Pack host the Portland Pirates in a 7:00 game. That is Scout Night at the XL Center. Scout groups that reserve in advance receive discounted tickets and special Scout Night patches.

Tickets purchased in advance for kids 12 or younger have been reduced to $10 this season, and all tickets will have a $2 day-of-game increase.
