St. John's IceCaps News Release


BACK IN ACTION: Forwards Jacob de la Rose and Michael Bournival returned to the ice this past weekend after being sidelined with injury. It was Bournival's first game since March 2015. de la Rose was out for the past 11 games with the IceCaps, but picked up back-to-back points against the Americans. (1G, 1A)

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS: The IceCaps face the Albany Devils Tuesday, Dec. 15, and Wednesday, Dec. 16 at Mile One Centre before breaking for the holidays. St. John's is back in action on boxing day at the Air Canada Centre versus the Marlies.

SNAPPED STREAK: The IceCaps 10-game home point streak (6-0-3-1) came to end Friday night. St. John's was undefeated in regulation at home this season until their 3-1 loss against the Rochester Americans.

The Rochester Americans swept the series at Mile One Centre in an overtime battle. Gabriel Dumont and Stefan Fournier scored for the home side, which is now winless in its last three games (0-2-1-0). Jason Akeson notched the winner just 1:12 into the extra frame. Eddie Pasquale stopped 32 of 35 shots in a third star performance for his first loss in this last four starts.

Jacob de la Rose had the lone goal for St. John's, his first of the season in a loss to the Americans at Mile One Centre. Rochester's Jerry D'Amigo potted a goal with 1:02 to go in regulation and Colby Robak scored into the empty net to seal the victory for the Amerks. Zach Fucale made 25 saves on 27 shots in the loss.
