Saturday, Oct. 27: Manitoba 1 at Milwaukee 4
The Admirals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of the contest, and added another tally in the second frame. Skyler McKenzie got the Moose back within two on an early third period goal, but Milwaukee put the game out of reach with six minutes to go. Goaltender Ken Appleby made 37 saves in defeat.
Sunday, Oct. 28: Manitoba 2 at Rockford 1
Rookie goaltender Mikhail Berdin was the story on Sunday as the 20 year old made 35 saves in his AHL debut, leading the Moose to a 2-1 shootout victory. Tye McGinn fired home his first goal as a member of the Moose midway through the second period. Andrew Campbell scored the lone Rockford goal with a couple minutes left in the frame. Berdin turned aside four shots in overtime and all three Rockford shootout attempts. That set the stage for Seth Griffith to score the shootout winner for Manitoba's first road victory of the season.

Instant Impact
Rookie goaltender Mikhail Berdin turned heads in his AHL debut, making 35 saves on 36 shots and backstopping the Moose to 2-1 shootout victory. His 0.972 save percentage is the best by a rookie goaltender making his AHL debut with the Moose since at least 2004. A sixth round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2016, Berdin was reassigned to the Moose from Jacksonville on Friday. In three ECHL starts, Berdin holds a 3-0-0 record, supported by a 1.98 goals-against average and a 0.934 save percentage.
Secondary Scoring
The line of Felix Girard and Skyler McKenzie, along with Ryan White or Tye McGinn, accounted for both Moose goals scored in regulation time this weekend. McKenzie tallied his first AHL regular season goal on Saturday in Milwaukee, while McGinn notched his first with the Moose on Sunday. Girard helped out on both goals and has three assists in his last four games. while McKenzie has points in his last two games.
Debuts
Forward Ryan White made his Manitoba debut Saturday night after signing a professional tryout with the Moose last week. The Brandon, Man. product is the second Manitoban to line up for the Moose this season in addition to captain Peter Stoykewych. Rookie defenceman Luke Green also made his season debut for the Moose against Milwaukee. A third round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2016, Green made his AHL debut back in 2016-17 when he recorded one assist in four games with the Moose.
Puckstoppers Getting Work
Moose goaltenders have been busy in the first eight games of the season. Manitoba allows the third-most shots in the AHL, with opposition averaging 35.25 shots per game. The goaltender of record has made at least 30 saves in each of the team's four wins on the season. Eric Comrie, Ken Appleby and Mikhail Berdin have a combined 0.904 save percentage.
Rookie forward Skyler McKenzie has points in each of his last two games, tallying a goal on Saturday and an assist on Sunday. The goal was McKenzie's first professional regular season tally. The Sherwood Park, Alta. native is third among Moose rookies with three points (1G, 2A) in seven games. He leads Manitoba's first-year AHL'ers with 15 shots on goal and is tied for fifth among the rest of the team.
