
Mallards Welcome Roy Sievers to the "Duck Pond"

Madison, WI - August 8, 2012. The Madison Mallards are excited to announce that baseball legend Roy Sievers will be coming to the "Duck Pond" on Friday, August 10th. The five time All-Star will be available to fans that night for autographs before and during the Mallards' game against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
Historians of the game remember Sievers for being a mainstay with the St. Louis Browns and Washington Senators for the bulk of his career during the seasons of 1949-1959. The St. Louis native was named the 1949 American League Rookie of the Year and was Top 10 in MVP voting three times during his career. His career numbers in the majors include a .267 average, 318 home runs and 1,147 RBIs.
Sievers will be at the "Duck Pond" when the Mallards return on Friday, August 10th to take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks (25-4, 44-22). That night will also feature Zimbrick Honda LEGO logo kits presented by briXwerX Studios.

The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America.
