Quad City Mallards News Release

WICHITA, Kan. (November 11, 2011) - Thomas Beauregard scored twice as the host Wichita Thunder defeated the Quad City Mallards 4-1 Friday night.

Beauregard pounced on a rebound with just 35.1 seconds left in the first period to snap a scoreless tie and give the Thunder a lead it would not relinquish.

Aaron Davis doubled the Thunder advantage by blasting the puck home 40 seconds into the second period.

The Wichita lead stretched to 3-0 when Brett Hemingway- who also had an assist- charged into the goalmouth and buried the puck from close range at 14:31 of the second. The Mallards would finally break through just over a minute later. Quad City's Jared Brown wristed the puck in under the crossbar to narrow the gap to 3-1 at 15:33.

In the third period, Mallard comeback hopes were quickly dampened when Beauregard converted an Alex Bourret centering feed after just 47 seconds of play.

The Mallards will visit the Tulsa Oilers tomorrow night at 7:35 p.m. The Mallards next play at home next Tuesday, November 15 at 7:05 p.m. against the Bloomington Blaze.
