Bucks Fall to Americans

Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, lost to the Allen Americans 6-1 on Friday night.
The Laredo Bucks faced the Allen Americans tonight for the first time in the 2011-2012 season. The Americans scored early in the first, when Jim McKenzie put the puck in the net at 2:16 in the first period. This gave Allen a 1-0 lead. The Bucks and Americans became more physical as the period drew to a close.
Once again the scoring started early, when Nick Layton lit the lamp for the Americans only 49 seconds into the second period. Brett Clouthier would also score for the Americans at 5:30, giving Allen a 3-0 lead. Matt Hanson would put the Bucks on the board at 14:28, with assists from Justin Styffe and Ryan Sparling. This would make the score 3-1, in favor of the Americans. Late in the third period Allen made the score 4-1, when Keith Johnson scored with 18 seconds left in the second period.
Allen would increase their lead in the third period, scoring two more goals. Dylan King and Bruce Graham had the goals for the Americans making the score 6-1. The Americans out-shot the Bucks 42-29 in the game. The Bucks and Americans will meet 12 more times this season.
The Laredo Bucks will once again face the Allen Americans TOMORROW, Saturday November 12th. The game will have a special start time of 4pm. The Bucks are also hosting a College Fair Presented by Texas A&M Laredo Prospective Student Center during the game. The College Fair will begin when doors open for the game at 3pm.
