
Mallards Capture UHL Player of the Week and Goaltender of the Week

Moline, IL-The United Hockey League announced today that right winger Jonathan Gagnon has been named Sher-Wood Player of the Week. Mallards netminder Jeff Reynaert was named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week.
Gagnon started his week with a game-tying marker on Friday night in Missouri. Gagnon's first goal as a Mallard sparked a third period comeback that secured the Mallards second win of the season. On Saturday, Gagnon recorded a hat trick and added two helpers in the Mallards home opener. On the weekend, Gagnon recorded six points (four goals and two assists) in two games.
Reynaert went 2-0-0 this weekend. He stopped 17 of 19 shots vs. Missouri on Friday as the Mallards skated away with a 3-2 win. During Saturday's home opener, Reynaert turned aside 24 pucks as the Mallards cruised to a 6-2 victory. This is the third time in his career that Reynaert has won UHL Goaltender of the Week honors. Reynaert took home the honor twice during the 2002-03 season.
The Mallards return to the ice on Wednesday in Rockford. Quad City will be looking to avenge a 8-4 loss to the Hogs the last time the teams met. The First Capital Financial Pre-Game Show starts at 6:40 p.m. on WFXN AM 1230 with a 7:05 p.m. faceoff. After the game, stay tuned to the Allstate Insurance Del Newton/ Christy Cox Post-Game Show.
The Mallards return home on Saturday, November 6 to face the Danbury Trashers. It's Magnet Schedule Night presented by U.S. Cellular, Riverbend Home Mortgage and Q 106. It's also soccer night as the Mallards welcome FC Dallas' Bobby Rhine and U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Carla Overbeck. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at The MARK next Saturday.
