LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Quad City Mallards right wing Jonathan Gagnon has been named Sher-Wood Player of the Week and goaltender Jeff Reynaert has been named Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, October 31, 2004
Gagnon finished the week with six points (4g, 2a) and a plus-five rating in two games. He opened the week with one goal in a 3-2 victory vs. the Missouri River Otters. In the Mallards home opener on Saturday, Gagnon tallied five points (3g, 2a) including the game-winning goal. It was the first hat trick of the season for Quad City as they defeated the Kansas City Outlaws 6-2. The 22-year-old Montreal, Quebec native is currently tied for the team lead with four goals and second on the team with seven points.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack left wing Hugo Belanger, Danbury forward Jim Duhart, Elmira center Greg Koehler, Flint right wing Mike Kinnie, Fort Wayne left wing P.C. Drouin, Kalamazoo right wing Tim Turner, Kansas City center Steve Yetman, Missouri defenseman Bob Rapoza, Motor City center Blair Manning, Muskegon right wing Scott Hollis, Port Huron center Malcolm MacMillan, Richmond center Mark Turner, and Rockford right wing J.F. Dufour.
Reynaert finished the week with a 2-0-0 record, a 2.00 GAA, and .911 save percentage. He made 17 saves on Friday vs. the River Otters and also assisted on the game-winning goal in the 3-2 victory. The 25-year-old native of Sterling Heights, Michigan made 24 saves on Saturday vs. Kansas City to earn his third win of the season.
