Last night, the Mallards beat the Blue Anchors by a score of 2-0, highlighted by superb pitching from five different Mallards pitchers and a solo home run by third baseman Trent Higginbothem (North Florida) in the 9th to cement the clubs 15th victory.
Starter Rob McDonnell received the win, going 5.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and four walks while striking out three. Closer Tim Black retired three of the four batters he faced in the ninth to get his eighth save of the year.
