Birmingham Legion FC News Release
For the first time in club history, Birmingham Legion FC will host a Major League Soccer team, Charlotte FC, at Protective Stadium on Wednesday, May 24 at 7:00pm in the Round of 16 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
Are you ready, Birmingham? Witness history in the making as Legion FC takes on Major League Soccer team Charlotte FC at home in the Round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup! The match is set for Wednesday, May 24th at 7 p.m. at Protective Stadium.
Tickets for the match are available now via the Legion FC website, and this match will feature pregame festivities in the stadium and exciting drink specials, in addition to the food trucks available at every Legion FC game.
This is a historic moment for Legion FC, as it's the first time the club will face a Major League Soccer team in a competitive game. Previous friendlies against Atlanta United and Nashville SC served as preseason exhibition games. If we take home the win on May 24th, we'll also be hosting the quarterfinal Round of Eight match against either Inter Miami FC or Nashville SC in June!
We need you to help us make the Magic City proud. Any and all promotion would be greatly appreciated. Players, coaches, and staff can be made available for interviews. Let us know what you need and we'll make it happen!
