The Mainers used outstanding pitching the last two games and looked for another solid effort from the mound from Rhode Island righty Ben Wessel. Wessel worked in and out of dangerous situations allowing 4 runs in the process, but the biggest key was he kept the game close with it tied 4-4 going into the seventh inning. North Adams starter Nathan Foriest allowed 4 runs issuing 5 walks and 3 strikeouts along with 4 hits in the no decision.
Wessel allowed 2 earned runs, 4 total runs in 6 innings pitched on 8 hits with 2 strikeouts.

Stevie Berman sends a double to left center field bringing In Sam Dexter and Matt Harris putting the Mainers on top 6-4. The final run came across on an RBI single by Cory Raley who is starting to swing a hot bat after early struggles at the plate. Raley finished the night 1 for 2 with 2 RBI and a walk.
The lead moved to 7-4 and was held by Anthony Ciavarella and Ryan Johnson who both closed the game. Ciavarella allowed two hits but worked his way out of a jam with imperfect stuff striking out one. Ryan Johnson was put into the closer position on this night as he earns the save completing the 9th not allowing a hit getting Kyle Richardson on a fly out to left field, Michael Hernandez on a strike out swinging and Vladimir Gomes, who was a thorn in the Mainers side all game, on a ground out to third base to seal the 7-4 win!
Vladimir Gomez was stellar for the SteepleCats going 2 for 5 with a run scored and his speed was a factor with 2 of the 3 Mainers errors coming the third inning, Gomez reached on a single, Wessel attempted to pick-off Gomez and skipped it by Matt Harris at first, Harris collected and fired the ball to second that sailed into left field allowing Gomez to advance all the way to third.
