Today, 22-year-old 3B Maikel Franco was recalled by Philadelphia.

He leaves the IronPigs on a season-high, 10-game hitting streak (19-41, .463-3-13, 2 2B, 4 R, 3 BB; 7 multi-hit affairs) -- one shy of his career-high 11-gamer set 6/20/13-6/30/13 with Reading (AA).

He leaves the minors leading the IL in hits (50), doubles (12), XBH (17), TB (76) and RBI (32); Ranked 2nd in the IL in AVG (.355) and 4th in SLG (.539).

He has a team-high 17 multi-hit games... in just 33 G overall (51.5%).

He has only struck out twice in his last 11 G & 45 AB.

Defensively, he committed just 2 E in 29 G (79 TC; .975) at 3B and 0 E in 4 G (36 TC) and 1B.

In his last 88 G in the IL (from 7/2/14-on), he's batted .336-15-71 (121-360, 29 2B, 4 3B) with a .360 OBP, a .564 SLG and a .924 OPS.
