MOBILE- Jim Magrane scattered four hits over seven scoreless innings as the Montgomery Biscuits shut out the Mobile BayBears, 4-0, at Hank Aaron Stadium Thursday night.

Magrane walked only one and struck out six, moving his record to 7-3 and tying four other pitchers for the most wins in all of Minor League Baseball.

Left-handed reliever Brian Henderson finished it off with two scoreless innings.

Slugging catcher Ryan Christianson gave the Biscuits all they needed in the fifth inning with a two-run homer. It was his league-leading 12th of the season. It was all the Biscuits could manage against starter Roger Deago, who went 5 1/3 innings.

Ryan Meaux was Mobile's third pitcher, entering with runners at first and third with no outs in the seventh inning and stranding the runners. But Meaux allowed two runs in the following inning on a Gabriel Martinez single and a Christianson groundout.

Left fielder Michael Coleman doubled three times, seting a Biscuits record and taking the league lead with 17 doubles. Of the left fielder's 41 hits this season, 23 are for extra bases.

Biscuits leadoff hitter Elliot Johnson went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts. In ihs last five games, the second baseman is 2-for-20 with 13 strikeouts.

The Jacksonville Suns also won on Thursday, keeping the Biscuits 1/2-game ahead in the Southern Division race.

The Biscuits are now 6-2 in this 10-game, 11-day roadtrip. They are 15-7 overall on the road and 13 of their last 17.

The fourth game of this series is Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Biscuits righty Chris Flinn will start.
