
BayBears beat Montgomery Friday

MOBILE, AL- Runs in the first, second, and third innings gave the BayBears an early lead they would not relinquish Friday, beating Montgomery 5-2. The win evens the five game series at two games each. Mobile starter John Hudgins threw five innings, allowing just one run on three hits.
George Kottaras was 2-for-3 with an RBI as the DH Friday. Mobile?s other multiple hit game came off the bat of Drew Macias, who went 2-for-4 with a double. Montgomery had two hits each from Aneudi Cuevas and Francisco Leandro. Dale Thayer pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his ninth save in 2006.
The BayBears and Biscuits will play Saturday at 7:05. Jose Oyervidez (1-4) throws for Mobile against Montgomery?s Mike Prochaska (2-0). All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 18, and on the internet via mobilebaybears.com.
