Jacksonville, FLA - Another day of play is completed in the 2006 ACC Baseball Championship at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville with Florida State and Georgia Tech advancing to the next round of play while Virginia and Miami see their tournament hopes dashed.

Florida State enjoyed an offensive explosion, scoring seven runs in the third inning en route to an 11-0 trouncing of Virginia. The mercy-rule shortened win sets FSU up to take on still-unbeaten N.C. State Saturday morning at 10:00am. If Florida State wins, the two teams will meet up again at 4:00pm to play for a spot in Sunday's championship game.

In the other half of the bracket, Georgia Tech advances with a 7-4 win over Miami. The Yellow Jackets will face the top-seeded Clemson Tigers at 1:00pm on Saturday. A Georgia Tech win will set up a 7:00pm rematch for the other spot in the title game on Sunday. Should N.C. State or Clemson win their first game tomorrow, they will automatically advance to the championship game.

On Saturday, all kids 14 and under who arrive to the Baseball Grounds before noon will receive free admission and the first 500 kids through the gate will get a free ACC Future Champions t-shirt and a free lunch from Chick-fil-A.

Tickets are currently on sale online at www.jaxsuns.com or may be purchased at the Baseball Grounds box office on Saturday morning.
