Albany River Rats News Release


Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League announced today that the New Jersey Devils have reassigned left wing Kenny Magowan to the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL.

Magowan, 24, recorded four (2-2) points with a minus one rating in four games with the River Rats this season. He scored his first AHL goal on February 21, 2005 against the Norfolk Admirals and notched back-to-back two point efforts in his first two AHL games of the season. He ranked third on the Lynx with 15 goals and 22 assists totaling 37 points in 50 games at the time of his recall. The Kelowna, British Columbia native was originally drafted by New Jersey with their 12th choice (198th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft and went scoreless in five games with the River Rats during the 2003-04 campaign.

The Albany River Rats, in their 12th season as a member of the American Hockey League, are owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
