Magic Fall to Go-Go at Home

January 11, 2022 - NBA G League (G League) - Lakeland Magic News Release

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Capital City Go-Go 132-95 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

Capital City took a commanding lead in the first half, capitalizing on an uncharacteristic amount of Magic turnovers. Two-Way player, Joel Ayayi, and Jaime Echenique each scored 12-first half points to extend the Go-Go lead going into the break.

Hassani Gravett dropped ten of his team-high 19 points in the third quarter to help the Magic temporarily start to close the gap. The Go-Go continued an even distribution of scoring, with eight players scoring in double figures, all under 20 points. The fourth quarter proved to be all Capital City as the Go-Go closed out the victory.

Gravett tied for a game-high 19 points with six rebounds and four assists. BJ Johnson posted 14 points, three rebounds and two assists. TJ Haws added 11 points, three rebounds and four assists.

Jordan Schakel posted 19 points and seven rebounds for the Go-Go. Echenique finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Isaiah Todd, on assignment from the Washington Wizards, contributed 16 points and two rebounds.

The Magic take on the Raptors 905 on Saturday, January 15 at 2:00 PM EST at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre Scotiabank Arena in Mississauga, Ontario. Magic fans can tune in to watch on NBAGLeague.com.
