November 14, 2008 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

BC Hockey and Hockey Alberta were pleased to announce the members for Team Pacific who will be competing in the Under 17 World Hockey Challenge in the Alberni Valley, British Colombia from December 29, 2008 to January 4, 2009. Among those named were Current Warriors' rookies Nathan MacMaster and Connor Cox.

Nathan MacMaster was the Warriors 2nd round pick (41st overall) in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft and has notched two goals so far this season. The 5'11, 165lbs forward from Calgary Alberta has shown that he is a creative and ambitious play maker and is sure to be an asset to Team Pacific's offensive attack.

Teammate Connor Cox was the Warriors 4th round pick (88th overall) in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft. The 5'9, 160lbs defenseman from Lethbridge, AB has a goal and two assists so far for the Warriors and has proven that he can be a key contributor on the blue line. MacMaster and Cox's WHL experience is sure to be an asset both on the ice and in the locker-room for Team Pacific.

Team Pacific is comprised of 11 players from BC and 11 players from Alberta. Each province held a provincial camp over the summer to identify a set number of players; these players were evaluated during the first part of the season by the high performance evaluators.

With MacMaster and Cox being named to Team Pacific, the total number of Warriors set to compete in International competition has grown to 5 as Quinton Howden, Dylan McIlrath and draft pick Kendal McFaull were named to Team West earlier this week.

The Moose Jaw Warriors and its fans would like to congratulate Nathan and Connor on being named to Team Pacific and wish them the best in International Competition at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
