North Charleston, SC - South Carolina Stingrays captain Cail MacLean scored twice in the first period, including the game winner, to pace his club past the visiting Augusta Lynx on Wednesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.

MacLean scored the first of two goals in the opening frame just 1:48 into the game, putting home the rebound of a Matt Stefanishion shot to give the Stingrays a 1-0 lead. Later in the period Jamie Fraser and Evan Schwabe would set up MacLean alone at the side of the Lynx net during a South Carolina power play at 18:15 for a 2-0 advantage after 20 minutes of play.

Peter Szabo stretched the Stingrays' lead to three goals at 5:21 before Mike Erickson potted his fifth goal of the year at 8:47, a power play marker from Jamie Johnson and Nathan Saunders.

Despite several good scoring chances in the third period, Davis Parley was equal to the task and kept Augusta to just one goal on 28 shots in the game for the win. Dave McKee finished with 38 saves to take the loss.

Augusta gets back to action Friday night when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 pm. Mezzanine tickets are just $5 each by calling the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE - get yours and join us for some pre-Christmas cheering with Santa!
