BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Braves (7-11) used six different pitchers to outduel the Biloxi Shuckers (10-8) 2-1 at MGM Park on Thursday night.

The M-Braves scored first on an RBI base hit from Landon Stephens in the third inning. The hit scored Andrew Moritz, who went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs in his third multi-hit game of the season.

The Shuckers got the run back in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly to tie the game 1-1.

RHP Scott Blewett tossed four innings of one-run ball in his second start of the season. The right-hander allowed one hit and three walks with four strikeouts.

In the seventh, Stephens grounded a ball down the third base line. Tyler Black stopped the ball on a backhand but wildly missed the throw to first base and allowed Moritz to score. The M-Braves took a 2-1 lead.

Stephens went 2-for-4 with an RBI. The outfielder is batting .203 with two home runs and eight RBI.

RHP Jose Montilla, RHP Trey Riley, RHP Coleman Huntley III, LHP Jake McSteen, and RHP Alec Barger combined to allow just two baserunners over the final five innings. Barger picked up his second save in a row after saving Wednesday's game.

In his first Double-A season, Barger has yet to allow a run in 11 innings over eight relief appearances. Barger started in a middle relief role before picking up back-to-back saves in the last two games.

M-Braves pitchers held Biloxi to 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position. The Shuckers left eight runners stranded.

The fourth game of the series is on Friday at MGM Park. LHP Luis De Avila (0-1, 2.52) will make the start for Mississippi against RHP Justin Jarvis (1-1, 1.59) for Biloxi. The first pitch is at 6:35 pm CT, with coverage starting 15 minutes before on 102.1 The Box, First Pitch App, and Bally Live.

The M-Braves are currently on the longest road trip of the season to Biloxi and Pensacola. The club will return to Trustmark Park for a six-game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts, May 9-14.
