
Lynx Waive Selena Lott and Mikayla Pivec

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve today announced that the team has waived guard Selena Lott and guard Mikayla Pivec.
Lott, 5-11, saw action in both preseason matchups for the Lynx, tallying three points, one rebound, three assists and two steals in 28:55 minutes of play.
The Troy, N.Y. native, played in 124 games during her four-year career at Marquette and earned Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year and All-Big East First team honors as a senior in 2020-21, a season that saw her average a team-best 14.7 ppg (on 46.1% shooting), 5.3 rpg, 5.2 apg and 2.08 spg in 26 starts. She wrapped up her Golden Eagles career ranked ninth in school history in steals (223).
In two preseason matchups with the Lynx, Pivec tallied four rebounds and one assist in 24:01 minutes of action.
Prior to being signed by the Lynx, the 23-year-old was originally selected by Atlanta in the third round (25th overall) of the 2020 WNBA Draft, chose to sit out of the 2020 WNBA season for personal reasons. During the WNBA offseason, Pivec appeared in 15 games, holding averages of 14.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg and 0.7 apg in 14.9 mpg for Promete in Spain.
The Lynx will tip-off their 23rd WNBA season, presented by Mayo Clinic, on May 14 vs. Phoenix at 8:00 p.m. CT. The 2021 season includes 32 regular season games from May 14 through Sept. 19.
