On Wednesday, July 16, the Lynx will host their annual "Camp Day" game as they take on the Tulsa Shock in a Western Conference showdown. Over 11,000 day campers from across the state will invade Target Center on Wednesday and will participate in on-court contests throughout the game.
The Lynx have a 7-5 overall record on Camp Day dating back to July 10, 2002 and average 13,299 fans per game. Last season on Camp Day, a franchise-record crowd (16,404 fans) saw the Lynx take down the Phoenix Mercury, 81-69, behind 18 points and seven assists from Lindsay Whalen.
Minnesota has won three games in a row in 2014, including six in a row at Target Center. The Lynx sit 1.5 games behind first place Phoenix with a 16-6 record and will head into the All-Star break after Wednesday's contest. Maya Moore is representing the Lynx in the Western Conference starting lineup. Moore and the other West starters will be coached by Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve and assistant coaches Jim Petersen and Shelley Patterson. All-Star reserves will be announced on Tuesday night during the 6 p.m. ESPN2 telecast of Los Angeles and Indiana.
