Ottawa Lynx News Release

The Lynx won their third in a row, beating Pawtucket 8-4. The Lynx are off to Rochester to start a three-game series with the Wild-Card-leading Red Wings.

The win bumps the Lynx record to a season-high-tying seven games over .500, 69-62 for the season.

Player Of The Night: Luis Terrero was one of five Lynx with multiple hits, but the big one was his 5th-inning home run that gave the Lynx the lead for good. Terrero finished with two hits, two runs batted in and one run scored.

Game Recap: Pawtucket drew first blood against the home Lynx, scoring one in the top of the 3rd inning. But the Lynx clawed their way back with three of their own in the bottom of the inning. Todd Donovan led off with a single and quickly moved over to 3rd when Ed Rogers got a bunt single and the throw was off line. Howie Clark drove both in with a single later that inning, and scored on a double by Luis Terrero. The Lynx extended their lead in the 4th when Ed Rogers singled home Val Majewski, who had led off the inning with a double. Pawtucket came back with three runs in the top of the inning, setting the stage for Luis Terrero's 13th home run of the season, putting the home team ahead to stay. The Lynx scored two more in the 6th when Val Majewski singled and Eli Whiteside scored him with a triple, scoring himself when the throw to third ended up in the Lynx dugout. Whiteside cashed Napoleon Calzado in the 8th inning off a sacrifice fly to close the scoring. The Lynx bullpen shut the door for the last 4.1 innings, allowing one hit and striking out eight PawSox.

Next Game: The Lynx will play the first game of three-game series against Rochester Wednesday night, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm in Rochester.

Probable Pitchers: Wednesday vs. Rochester, 7:05 pm, Ottawa RHP Brian Bowles (9-8, 2.90) vs. Mike Smith (10-5, 3.92)
