TONIGHT'S GAME: The second game of a two game series and the 10th of 12 meetings vs. the Bats. The sixth of six at Louisville Slugger Field. Richmond is 1-8 vs. the Bats, 1-4 at Louisville. Game 10 of a 10 game, eight day road trip (Richmond is 1-8). The 44th of 48 meetings vs. West Division clubs (Braves are 13-30 vs. the West) and the 24th of 24 road contests vs. West Division clubs (Richmond is 5-18). The Braves were 8-4 vs. the Bats last season, 5-1 at Louisville Slugger Field. The Braves are 57-69 all-time vs. Louisville. The Braves are fourth in the South, 26 games behind first place Charlotte. The Bats are in a second place tie in the West, two games out of first.

LAST NIGHT'S GAME- The Braves beat the Bats 2-1 at Louisville Slugger Field Monday. Kyle Davies pitched seven innings of three hit ball and knocked in a run to help the Braves end an eight game losing streak. Davies knocked in Cesar Crespo with an RBI single in the fifth to give the Braves a 1-0 lead. The Bats tied the game in the sixth on an RBI fielder's choice by Dewayne Wise. Richmond moved in front to stay in the seventh when Gregor Blanco chased James Jurries home with a single. Davies earned the win in his first rehab start with Richmond. Manny Acosta notched his 13th save. Steve Kelly took the loss. Blanco had three hits for Richmond. Davies, Acosta, and Ryan Basner combined to limit the Bats to four hits.

PICKIN' IT: The Braves have played four straight errorless games. They are once again tied for third in the International League in fielding percentage (.980). Indianapolis leads the IL in fielding percentage (.982). At least three players have started at every position for the Braves this season.

OF STREAKS AND MEN: Gregor Blanco has four hits in his last eight at bats. Braves pinch hitters were 0 for their last 8 prior to Bill McCarthy's hit last night. The Braves last pinch hit before last night was by Cesar Crespo July 31. McCarthy is hitting a club leading .438 in August. He has raised his batting average from .223 to .245. McCarthy has eight hits in his last 17 at bats. Jonathan Johnson has 10 strikeouts in his last five innings pitched. Manny Acosta picked up his first save in 13 days last night. He had nine saves in 36 days o July-August. The Braves are on a 10 game, eight day, four city road trip. Braves pitchers are 15-70 at the plate (.214). Richmond pinch hitters are 7-52 (.135). Richmond has a winning record against South Division clubs. They are a combined 35 games under .500 vs. the North and West. The Braves are under .500 for the month of August after winning eight of their first nine games this month. They won four of their first five games in June and six of their first nine in July. The Braves last winning record for a full month was August, 2004. 18 R-Braves have been promoted to Atlanta this season and Richmond has made 101 roster moves. The Braves are tied for the league lead with Rochester for most extra inning games played (17). The Braves are 5-12 in extra innings. The Braves four wins when trailing after eight innings leads the International League.

BACK ON TRACK: The Braves snapped an eight game losing streak last night. They are looking for back to back road wins for the third time this season. The Braves last back to back wins were August 9-10 as part of a four game winning streak. The last time prior to last night that the Braves scored fewer than three runs and won was July 4 vs. Ottawa (a 1-0 win). The Braves have scored two or fewer runs in seven of their last 10 games. Richmond is 9-47 when scoring two or less runs. The Braves have scored seven runs in five games at Louisville this season and have yet to score more than two runs in a game vs. the Bats in 2006.
