
Lynx Finalize 2007 Opening Night Roster

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team's 2007 Opening Night roster. The Lynx finalized their 12-player roster by releasing guard Chandi Jones this afternoon.
The 2007 roster includes five WNBA rookies: guard Lindsey Harding (first round, 1st pick), guard Noelle Quinn (first round, 4th pick), guard Eshaya Murphy (second round, 15th pick), forward Kathrin Ress (second round, 24th pick), and guard Navonda Moore (undrafted free agent). Also new to the Lynx 2007 roster is free-agent guard Kiesha Brown, a six-year veteran who has played with the Washington Mystics, Houston Comets, and New York Liberty. Center Vanessa Hayden is expected to miss the 2007 season due to pregnancy.
The Lynx enter the 2007 season under the guidance of first-year head coach Don Zierden. A native of Minneapolis, Zierden comes to the Lynx from the Detroit Pistons, where he has served as an assistant coach. Prior to joining the Pistons, he also spent five seasons as an assistant with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Minnesota will open the regular season on Saturday, May 19 against the Indiana Fever at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CDT. The Lynx' 2007 Home Opener is Sunday, May 20 against the reigning Western Conference champion Sacramento Monarchs. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Target Center. All 2007 Minnesota Lynx games will be broadcast on the radio home of the Lynx, BOB 106.1 FM. The broadcasts will include both pre- and post-game shows hosted by Brian Sieman, who returns for his fifth season as the Lynx play-by-play radio voice.
