UNCASVILLE, CT. (May 18, 2007) - The Connecticut Sun cut 6-foot-2 forward Laura Summerton Friday, reducing the roster to 12 players.
WNBA rosters are limited to 11 active players, but teams can carry up to 13 players, with two designated as in-active.
An Australian native who was signed to a training camp contract in 2005, Summerton appeared in 44 games for the Sun, making three starts. She averaged 2.1 points and one rebound per game during her career, scoring a career-high 11 points at Charlotte last June 20th.
The Sun will play their first regular season home game of the 2007 season on May 26th at 3:30 p.m., hosting the Los Angeles Sparks at Mohegan Sun Arena. All fans in attendance will receive a free 5th Anniversary t-shirt. Prior to the game, the Sun will hold a fanfest on top of the Riverview Garage at Mohegan Sun Resort. Former Sun player Debbie Black will be on hand to meet with fans.
