Ottawa Lynx News Release
OTTAWA - Thanks to the magic of preseason ties, the Lynx have gone from winless in four games to unbeaten in three games in one day. The Lynx followed up back-to-back ties with today's 4-1 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees, bringing their preseason record to 6-4-3.
Heath Totten got the start for the Lynx and held Scranton to the one run over 4.2 innings. Yoel Hernandez, Fabio Castro, Kane Davis and Eude Brito combined to shut the Yankees down for the next 4.1 innings, limiting them to only 2 hits after Totten's departure.
Jim Rushford sparked the Lynx offence with 2 hits and a run batted in. Chris Coste, Carlos Ruiz, Chris Roberson, Lou Collier, Gary Burnham, Carlos Leon and Zach Penprase all chipped in with single hits. Ruiz, Roberson and Penprase had an RBI apiece.
The Lynx face the Syracuse Chiefs tomorrow at the Phillies' home, the Carpenter Complex in Clearwater. The Lynx preseason ends Saturday when the Lynx take on Durham.
