Minnesota Lynx News Release
TONIGHT'S GAME
Minnesota at Phoenix - Tuesday, Aug. 8, at US Airways Center (7:30 p.m.)
The final showdown between the Lynx and Mercury could prove decisive in this season's rookie of the year race between Seimone Augustus and Cappie Pondexter. Augustus led her team to victory in the teams' first meeting with a season-high 32 points, but it was Pondexter's three-pointer with 5.8 left that sealed the victory for Phoenix in their second match up. On the season, Augustus is averaging 22.0 ppg; Pondexter, 19.6. The Lynx have lost four of the last five games against the Mercury and trail in the all-time series 13-14.
INJURY REPORT
Lynx Center Vanessa Hayden, who left Sunday's game against San Antonio in the third quarter with a sprained right ankle, is listed as questionable for tonight's game at Phoenix. Forward Tamika Williams sat out three quarters against the Silver Stars with soreness in her left knee, but is listed as probable for tonight's contest.
