Beasley Broadcasting's NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630, WRDW-AM will return to serve as the flagship station for the Augusta Lynx for the 2005-06 Season, with Tom Callahan handling the play-by-play duties.
NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630 will broadcast all 72 games for the Lynx this season, while carrying the Behind the Bench Coach's Show live from Wild Wing Café on Monday nights from 7 - 8 pm.
"Beasley Broadcasting has been a tremendous partner for us," said Lynx general manager Paul Gamsby. "It's been an absolute pleasure working with them, and their production of Lynx Hockey has been nothing short of top-notch. We pride ourselves on putting forth the most professional sounding product possible for our fans and sponsors."
The Lynx will also go live on the World Wide Web via B2 Networks this season, with both audio and video broadcasts available. Video broadcasts require a broadband or high speed connection and Windows Media Player 9 or higher. Cost is $6 per game. Audio broadcasts will still be offered free of charge. Fans may access the broadcasts through the team's web site atwww.augustalynx.com.
Callahan, 29, enters his eighth year of hockey broadcasting. Selected to the broadcast team for the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game in Reading, PA last season, the Lackawanna, NY native is in his third season with the Lynx. He earned his bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism and History from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY.
