Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have signed goaltender Sean Fields for the 2005-06 season.
Fields returns for his second season with the Gladiators after finishing his rookie campaign last year with Gwinnett. Originally signed as an emergency backup, Fields started in and won his first start with the Gladiators on December 5th in a 4-2 win over the Texas Wildcatters.
"Sean started as a solid number 2 goaltender and proved he could be a starting goaltender in this league," said Gladiators Head Coach Jeff Pyle. "He showed great character and poise when we needed it the most."
Fields went 13-1-2 to finish the season while being named the ECHL goaltender of the week for March 7th through the 14th. The Edmonton, Alberta native finished the season with a 2.48 goals against average and a 9.13 save percentage.
A four year starter for Boston University, Fields began last year with the Bakersfield Condors but did not see any action before being signed by the Tulsa Oilers of the CHL where he saw action in 5 games.
