Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder has acquired left winger Aaron Foster from the Dayton Bombers in exchange for financial considerations, Thunder Head Coach Chris Cichocki announced today.

"Aaron is a big, strong kid with tremendous upside," said Cichocki. "We're looking for him to continue with his progress, and solidify himself as an upper-level forward."

Foster, 22, will be making his second appearance with the team but in a new city, collecting 23 points (11-12=23) in 56 games with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies (ECHL) in his 2003-04 rookie season. Foster spent his 2004-05 campaign with the Bombers (16-16=32), appearing in 69 games while finishing tied for fourth on the team in goals. He has collected 188 total penalty minutes in 125 career games.

A six-foot-four, 212-pound native of Lloydminster, Alberta, Foster appeared in three playoff games for Atlantic City (0-2=2) in 2004, collecting two assists.

Foster spent his four-year junior career with the Prince George Cougars (WHL) from 1999-02. In 225 career games, he picked up 133 total points (62-71=133) and 375 penalty minutes. For the first two seasons, he was a teammate of current Nashville Predators (NHL) defenseman Dan Hamhuis.

Foster hikes the current Thunder roster to 13 players, in preparation for the 2005-06 season. The Thunder opens the season on the road October 22nd against the Fresno Falcons, while hosting Fresno in Stockton's home opener on December 3rd.

Season tickets for the upcoming Thunder season are on sale now. Tickets for the home opener can currently be purchased as part of a full or mini season package.
