Mangos and MacInnis sign with the Salmon Kings

Victoria, BC - Victoria Salmon Kings Head Coach and General Manager Bryan Maxwell announced today the signing of defensemen Simon Mangos and Aaron MacInnis.

On September 12, 2005 Maxwell traded for the rights of Mangos and MacInnis from the Texas Wildcatters in exchange for forward Ryan Finnerty.

"Acquiring Simon and Aaron was an important move for the Salmon Kings this summer, but now having them both signed to contracts solidifies our defense going into training camp," said Bryan Maxwell, Head Coach and General Manager of the Victoria Salmon Kings.

In the 2004-05 season Mangos played 52 games with the Fresno Falcons recording seven goals and 13 assists for twenty points. The 25-year-old native of Caledon, Ontario was moved to the Wildcatters where he played the final 10 games of the season, netting a goal and adding nine helpers for a total of 10 points.

The 5'10 - 185lbs puck moving defenseman played four full season's at Ferris State University in the NCAA. His best season in College hockey came in the 2002-03 season when he recorded 22 points (11 goals and 11 assists) in 42 games.

6'1 - 200lbs MacInnis, is a native of Port Hood, Nova Scotia who has played two seasons in the ECHL. The stay-at-home defenseman's professional career began with the Cincinnati Cyclones where he played 22 games before moving to the Wildcatters. MacInnis notched 3 goals and 10 assists in his rookie season in the ECHL.

The 24-year-old nephew of future Hall of Famer Al MacInnis played 71 games with the Wildcatters last season finishing with a goal and 13 assists for 14 points.
