Augusta Lynx News Release
Q: What are the chances of us getting Magowan back this year? Ed Cordes Season Ticket Holder Aiken, S.C.
Bob Ferguson: Ken Magowan has been tendered an offer sheet, and we are awaiting his decision on where he will sign for the upcoming season
Q: Is Todd Bennett returning? Who will we replace him with on the PP? Robin Augusta, Ga.
BF: Todd Bennett is most likely not going to return this season. He finished last year ranked tied for sixth in power play points on the club, and I think that players such as Ryan Lang, Jake Riddle, and Ryan Bennett will be more than able to fill that role. Also, we're not done signing players as of yet, and have offers out to several offensively talented players.
Q: Any news yet on a starting goaltender? Sam Roney Season Ticket Holder Augusta, Ga.
BF: Again, we have offers out to players who are currently attending training camps at higher levels. Rest assured we will have quality goaltending this year, but we must wait for those camps to run their course.
Q: Do you plan to add some proven scorers? To date it looks like a business as usual year which will be extremely disappointing to the remaining fans the team has. Tom Sheehan Season Ticket Holder Evans, Ga.
BF: When it comes to a proven scorer, we're always looking to better the team. If the right player for our team is available, we'll definitely pursue him. Players must not only perform well on the ice, but as I've said before must also fit our team mold.
Q: What happened to Jamie Johnson? Rebecca Stone Aiken, S.C.
BF: Jamie has signed with the Iowa Stars of the AHL after a successful stint at Dallas Stars NHL Training Camp. We definitely wish him luck in his quest to play at the next level!
Q: Is Louis Dumont coming here? Tiffany Hammett Season Ticket Holder Augusta, Ga.
BF: Louis has signed with the Utah Grizzlies.
Q: Jim Baxter used to play for us and a previous coach traded him to Mississippi. If the SeaWolves don't play this season, what are the chances of getting him? As I recall after he left us he went on to lead the league in defensive points. John Burnham Season Ticket Holder Williston, S.C.
BF: Jim Baxter did not play in Mississippi last season. He signed to play with Victoria but ended up playing in Germany last season and has signed again with the same team in 2005-06.
