
Lynx Agree to Terms with Auffrey

AUGUSTA, Ga.− The Augusta Lynx have agreed to terms with forward Matt Auffrey, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations John Marks announced today. Marks also announced that the Lynx have traded the rights to defenseman Ken Scuderi to the Charlotte Checkers for future considerations.
"We're really looking for a big year from Matt," Marks said. "We're really happy that he's come back to Augusta. I know that if he works hard, he can make it to the next level."
Auffrey, 22, tallied 50 points (25 goals, 25 assists) and 92 penalty minutes in 72 regular-season games with the Lynx last year, his first full season as a professional. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Cincinnati, Ohio also notched four points (two goals, two assists) and 10 penalty minutes in five Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Prior to joining the Lynx, Auffrey recorded 107 points (51 goals, 56 assists) and 202 penalty minutes in 124 career regular-season Ontario Hockey League games with Kitchener, Kingston and Brampton from 2005-06 through 2006-07. Auffrey also had 10 points (five goals, five assists) and 16 penalty minutes in 10 career OHL playoff games. His complete career statistics are attached.
Auffrey was originally selected 172nd overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the sixth round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
