THE HILLCATS: Last night, the Hillcats lost to the Carolina Mudcats 7-2...The 'Cats scored first in the bottom of the frist but would not lead again after a second inning two-run homer for Carolina's Anthony Gallas...C Braeden Schlehuber tied the game with a solo shot in the fourth, but the Mudcats scored the final five runs of the game to avoid the sweep...The Hillcats won the series 2-1...They are now 35-31 and have already clinched first place in the Northern Division for the first half...

VS. FREDERICK: Lynchburg is 7-3 against the Keys this season...Most recently, the two clubsmet last weekend in Lynchburg for five games in three days...The Keys swept Friday's doubleheader, while the Hillcats swept Saturday's twinbill and won Sunday's finale...The Hillcats make their second trip to Frederick this weekend...They swept the Keys in three games in their last trip...The Hillcats won the season-series last year 11-9...

SORRY MR. MORA: It's only June and we're already talking playoffs...The Hillcats clinched a first half Northern Division championship Tuesday night with two wins over the Mudcats...They will meet the winner of the second half in the playoffs in September...This will be the first playoff appearance for Lynchburg since they won the Mills cup in 2009...Last year the Hillcats never even saw a .500 record...

SEE YA IN WINSTON: The Carolina League announced their All-Star selections Monday...The Hillcats will have five representatives, RHP J.R. Graham, 1B Chris Garcia, 2B Tommy La Stella, SS Nick Ahmed, and C Braeden Schlehuber...Graham leads the league in wins (8) and is tied for third in ERA (2.53)...Garcia ranks seventh in the league in batting (.317), second in on-base percentage (.430) and second in walks (40)...La Stella is the only Hillcat in the starting lineup...He leads the Hillcats and all second baseman in RBI (38), also is fifth most in the circuit...Ahmed is tied for the league-lead in stolen bases (20) and leads all shortstops in chances, assists, putouts, and double plays...Schlehuber is hitting .313, which would rank eighth in the league, but he is 26 plate appearances short of qualifying...He also has a career-high six home runs already this season...

SERIES PLAY: The Hillcats are 0-3 with three splits in four-game series this season...They have the Frederick Keys for four games this weekend...They Hillcats lost three of four at Carolina and at home against Carolina earlier this season...The Salem Red Sox also took three of four from Lynchburg in a home/road series...The 'Cats have splitfour-game sets with Frederick, Wilington and Myrtle Beach...

WALKING OFF: OF Adam Milligan hit a walk-off sacrifice fly to give the Hillcats the win in game one Tuesday night...It was the third walk-off win for the Hillcats this season...Coincidentally, Milligan's last walk-off hit was an RBI-single June 6, 2011 for the Hillcats, and it was the third one for Lynchburg that season as well...The Hillcats never recorded another walk-off the rest of the season...

STELLA: 2B Tommy La Stella went 4-for-7 with a triple, two RBI, and a run scored Tuesday night, playing in both ends of the doubleheader...He scored the game-winning run in the first game and drove in his 37th and 38th runs of the year in game two...Now ranks fifth in the league in RBI...The 4-for-7 effort raised his average ten points (.263 to .273)...He's now on a four-game hitting streak, with three straight two-hit games...He is 7-for-15 (.467) during the streak with a double, a triple, three RBI, and three runs scored...Now leads the Hillcats with three triples this season...Snapped his four-game streak with an 0-for-3 effort last night...Now hitting .269 on the season...

SCHLE' RIDE: C Braeden Schlehuber went 2-for-3 with a solo home run last night...Has now hit safely in nine of his last ten games, he is 16-for-32 (.500) in the stretch with three doubles, a triple, two home runs, six RBI, and nine runs scored...Has raised his batting average 54 points, from .267 to .321 in that stretch...Has his season clip above .300 the last three games for the first time since April 25, when he was hitting .324, ten games into the season...The home run was his seventh of the year, which is a single-season career-high (previous high, 5), and the triple was just the second one of his five-year career...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Dylan Bundy was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round in 2011 with the fourth overall selection out of Owasso High School in Oklahoma...The Tulsa native transferred from Sperry High School, a 3-A program to Owasso, a 6-A powerhouse in 2010...Won second-team All-America honors as a junior (11-1, 1.58) and was named Baseball America's High School Player of the Year in 2011...He went 11-0 with a 0.20 ERA, while also hitting .467...He struck out 322 batters in just 151 innings at Owasso...He made his professional debut this season with Low-A Delmarva after signing at the deadline for a reported $6.225 million major league contract, including a $4 million bonus...The 19 year-old entered his first professional season as the top-rated prospect in the Orioles farm system...Dominated with Delmarva....Went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA...Allowed just two unearned runs through 30 innings...Struck out 40 and walked two, and gave up just five hits...He went 13 innings (4 starts) before allowing his first hit on April 30...Promoted to Frederick on May 25 after eight starts in Low-A...Surrendered his first two earned runs of his career to the Salem Red Sox in the fourth inning of his first Hi-A start...Through three starts with Frederick, he is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA...Has allowed five earned runs in 15 innings...Has struck out 18 and walked four...Went five innings against the Hillcats last Friday...Gave up two earned runs on four hits, including a solo homer for SS Nick Ahmed...Walked three, which doubled his career total...Bundy entered the season as one of the top-ten prospects in all of MiLB...His older brother Bobby plays for Double-A Bowie, also in the Orioles organization...
