THE HILLCATS: Tuesday, the 'Cats lost to the Frederick Keys 7-4...Lynchburg committed three costly errors that led to three unearned runs...The Keys on the other hand played mistake-free and were helped by new addition Aaron Baker who in his debut for the Keys hit a two-run home run in the seventh last night to take a a 6-4 lead...The Hillcats are currently in fourth place in the Northern Division at 13-24, 12.0 games back of the Keys in first place...

VS. FREDERICK: The Hillcats are 6-8 against the Keys this season...This will be the last trip to Harry Grove Stadium for the 'Cats this year, they are currently 4-4 in Frederick...Lynchburg won the first series with Frederick 3-1 at Harry Grove, but has lost the last three series 2-1...

ROAD WEARY: Lynchburg ventures back out on the road the Keys in Frederick this week...So far in the second half, the Hillcats are 5-15 playing away from City Stadium...The offense on the road has been dreadful, getting shut out six times and averging just 2.7 runs per game (54 runs/20 games)...In Frederick the Hillcats have scored just 24 runs through eight games (3.0 runs/game) and nine of those runs came in the first game they played here back on April 21...

BEST OF THE BRAVOS: Eight members of the Hillcats are ranked amongst the top 30 prospects in the Atlanta Braves organization according to Baseball America...That list includes C Christian Bethancourt (12), SS Andrelton Simmons (15), RHP David Hale (17), RHP Dimasther Delgado (18), OF Todd Cunningham (20), OF Adam Milligan (22), INF Joe Leonard (23) and 2B Phil Gosselin (25)...

MOVIN' ON: The Hillcats said good bye to RHP Zeke Spruill over the weekend after his promotion to AA Mississippi, and today Aaron Shafer who was slotted to start tonight in Frederick is now with AA as well...Spruill went 7-9 with a 3.19 ERA for Lynchburg and set an all-time Hillcats record with five complete games in a single season, while Shafer who signed with the Braves after being released by the Cubs in Spring Training leaves Lynchburg 3-3 with a 3.05 ERA...In his first start at AA, Spruill earned the win allowing four runs, three earned through six innings...Shafer should make his Mississippi debut tonight or tomorrow...

WELCOME BACK: OF Todd Cunningham made his return to the Hillcats lineup last night after nearly two months away rehabbing his right elbow...Cunningham swung at the first pitch of the ball game leading off in the top of the first and grounded a single into centerfield...He finished the day 2-for-4 but couldn't help his team overcome three infield errors in the loss...

40 CLUB: INF Joey Terdoslavich smacked his 40th double of the season Sunday and two more last night to give him 42...No one else in the league even has 30...He is currently on a five-game multi-hit streak...He is 12-for-19 over that span, with five doubles, a home run, eight RBI, and six runs scored...He has scored a run in each of his last five games as well and is currently hitting .283, tied for fourth best in the league...

RUNNING WILED: OF Keenan Wiley stole two more bases Sunday night...It was his second straight multi-steal game after stealing third twice on Saturday...He now has three multi-steal games in his career...He has proven to be the most effective base stealer for Lynchburg this year with 16 steals in 19 attempts...He's also swinging a good bat recently, hitting .348 over his last seven games (8-for-23)...Currently hitting .285, which would rank tied for third in the league but he is still eight plate appearances short of qualifying after being called up from Rome April 25 this year...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP Nick Haughian was selected in the ninth round of the 2008 draft out of the University of Washington...Spent all of 2010 with Delmarva...Finished second among Delmarva pitchers in strikeouts (90)...He was named the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 6-12...Faced the Hillcats twice this season...Pitched seven shutout innings to earn win on June 10, giving up only three hits and striking out nine...Pitched just as effectively in his second start against the cats on June 30...Pitched six shutout innings, giving up five hits and striking out five...Currently 8-4 with a 3.41 ERA...
