THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg earned a 13-9 comeback victory last night in 11 innings over the Keys last night in Frederick in game one of the four-game series...The Hillcats have now won four of their last five games and 10 of 13...They also have a game and a half lead over Potomac for first place in the Northern Division and the best record in the league...Tonight is the second game of a four-game series at Frederick and a seven-game road trip...This trip finishes off a stretch of 13 out of 16 on the road for the Cats...

VS. FREDERICK: Lynchburg took two out of three from Frederick when they met earlier this season at City Stadium...Last season the Keys won the season series against the Cats 12-7 and went 6-4 at home...Lynchburg though holds the all-time advantage 145-130 and they are 69-66 at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick...

NORTHERN EXPOSURE: This series against Frederick is the second of three straight sets against Northern Division foes for the Hillcats...After taking two out of three from Wilmington at City Stadium, Lynchburg took game one against Frederick last night...The Cats are now 9-5 against the North this season and 2-2 on the road...

CARDIAC CATS: Last night was the 16th comeback victory of the season for the Hillcats...After five innings they trailed 7-4 before rallying to eventually tie the game in the ninth and took the lead for good in the 11th...The win was just the second time this season Lynchburg won when entering the ninth inning trailing, they were 1-11 before last night...Last night was the second time 3B Pedro Alvarez has tied a game in the ninth inning with a homer, and he also has three game-winning long balls, including two walk-offs at City Stadium...

EXTRA, EXTRA: Lynchburg has now won four straight extra-inning games after losing their first game of additional baseball...They won a pair of ten inning game on Thursday and Friday of last week before winning a night ago, giving them three extra inning wins in their last five games played...

DEEP INTO THE NIGHT: Game one of this four game series was the longest game of the season for the Hillcats in both innings and overall time of game...It was an 11 inning affair that took three hours and 43 minutes to play...

FREDERICK FOLLY: The Keys committed three errors last night that led to eight unearned runs last night...They also made two other defensive miscues that led to earned runs...Most notably, in the ninth inning with Frederick leading by a run, their C Caleb Joseph could not track down a pop-up off the bat of 3B Pedro Alvarez...The very next pitch Alvarez hit a home run to left field that tied the game at eight...All five runs the Hillcats scored in the 11th inning were unearned thanks to the final error of the game by the Keys...Frederick easily leads the Carolina League in errors with 58 and they have an astonishing 49 unearned runs in 37 games this season...

IT'S THE REAL THING: RHP Mike Colla recorded his third win in his last four outings last night by working two scoreless frames...The righty pitched out of a bases loaded jam with one out in the bottom of the tenth inning to keep the game tied at eight...He has not allowed a run in his last seven appearances (13 and 2/3 innings)since he allowed two runs in his first outing with the Hillcats...

PUT ME IN, COACH, I'M READY TO PLAY TODAY: INF Ray Chang has proven himself ready to play when called upon this season...His two-hit performance last night extended his season-long hitting streak to 11 games...That passes OF Alex Presley for the longest streak of the season by a Hillcat...Over that stretch Chang has gone 18-for-43 (.419) with 11 RBI and 10 runs scored...His 11-game hit-streak has covered 24 Hillcats games...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Tim Bascom was selected in the fourth round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft by the Orioles out of the University of Central Florida...His final year with the Golden Knights he went 5-6 with a 2.48 ERA in 14 starts...This year marks the third season in which Bascom has pitched for the Keys...Last season he went 6-5 with a 5.78 ERA in 19 starts for Frederick...This year he has gone 3-3 with a 2.83 earned run average in seven games (six starts)...Last year he made one start against Lynchburg and earned the win at City Stadium by allowing two runs in six innings of work...
