Lumberjacks Make Deadline Deals

Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks made a flurry of moves before the Northeast League roster deadline which came last night at midnight eastern. When the dust had settled, the Jacks had acquired INF Mike Davis from the Aces, activated RHP Kevin Pincavitch, and released INF Chris Carminucci and INF Donnie Ross.

Davis, a native of Chicago, IL, was acquired to complete a previous trade in which the Lumberjacks sent INF Schuyler Doakes to the Aces. Davis was hitting .275 with four home runs and 31 RBI this season. In his debut with the Jacks in the second game of a doubleheader, he went 1-3 with a single. Last season, as the second baseman for the Brockton Rox, Davis hit .256 with seven homers and 20 runs batted in. He can play multiple infield positions.

The Jacks also activated RHP and pitching coach Kevin Pincavitch, and placed him on the disabled list. Last season, while pitching for Bangor, Kevin was 7-3 with a 4.04 ERA in 93.2 innings pitched. Pincavitch has 981 career strikeouts 1120.2 innings on the mound to go with a 73-57 career record and 3.65 career ERA. Lumberjack fans voted Pincavitch team pitcher of the year last season.

The Jacks released hitting coach Carminucci who grounded out in his only at bat. The Jacks also released Ross who was hitting .327 with 14 home runs and 30 RBI at the time of a season ending injury.
