Chris Carminucci Announced As Field Manager

The Bangor Lumberjacks, proud members of the Can-Am League, announced today that they have hired Chris Carminucci as their Field Manager for the 2005 season. Carminucci was the hitting coach for the Lumberjacks last season.

Before joining the Lumberjacks Chris was assistant baseball coach at St. John's University were his duties included hitting instruction and coaching of outfielders/infielders. Prior to St. John's Chris was head coach of the Global Institute of Technology in New York City (A Division 1 Junior College) for three years.

Carminucci also coached in the prestigious Cape Cod League in 2003 as hitting instructor for the Brewster Whitecaps. Carminucci coached first and third base and was a member of the staff that guided the Whitecaps to the division championship.

"Chris will bring a great work ethic and a desire to win to the Lumberjacks. I am confident he will help Bangor compete for the Can-Am Championship", states Lumberjacks General Manager, Curt Jacey

Prior to his coaching career, Chris spent nearly eight years as a professional player and scout for the Kansas City Royals. He is currently a scout for the San Diego Padres and speaks nationally at baseball clinics and conventions. He also founded Pro Performance Baseball and Softball Academy, a leading training facility in the New York area as well as Bases Loaded Sports Management.

Chris is resided in Connecticut, with his wife Lauren and daughter Emma.
