
Lumberjacks join Can-Am League

On October 6, 2004, the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, Ltd. was formed. The Members will play in an independent baseball league to be known as the Can-Am League. The Members of the Can-Am League include the Bangor Lumberjacks in Bangor, Maine, the Brockton Rox in Brockton, Massachusetts, the Elmira Pioneers in Elmira, New York, the New Haven County Cutters in West Haven, Connecticut, the New Jersey Jackals in Little Falls, New Jersey, the North Shore Spirit in Lynn, Massachusetts, and Les Capitales de Québec in Québec City, Québec.
Play will commence in May of 2005. At least one additional team is expected to be announced as a Member in the Can-Am League in the near future. Miles Wolff has been named Commissioner of the League and Dan Moushon has been named President and Chief Operating Officer.
The Commissioner stated "We are excited about the Can-Am League. We have outstanding cities and owners. The old Can-Am League had a great history, and we hope to make our own mark in independent baseball."
All of the teams played in the Northeast League through the conclusion of the 2004 Season. The Members have joined the Can-Am League to strengthen their commitment to each other to offer the very best in independent, professional baseball to their fans.
