YOUNGSTOWN, OH- Phantoms Defenseman Luke McInnis was named MVP of the fourth CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game last night in Buffalo, NY. McInnis notched two points, including the game-winning goal in the final minutes of the third period.

"It was an unbelievable experience up in Buffalo scoring the game winner. I am just happy to have been able to play in the game and represent my family and the Phantoms," McInnis said.

All the prospects were sorted into two teams: Team Plante and Team Roenick. Team Plante won 6-4, with McInnis scoring a power-play goal with just 1:50 left in regulation to give his team the lead. Team Plante added an empty-netter in the final seconds.

"Our staff and organization is very proud and excited for Luke. It's great to have an opportunity like he had to showcase his talents in front of key decision makers looking ahead to the 2016 NHL Draft. No doubt he made the most of his chance," said Phantoms General Manager Jason Koehler.

"It was great to see so many USHL players thrive on a national stage in front of NHL scouts and fans, not to mention the thousands of people watching at home on NHL Network," said Bob Fallen, USHL President and Commissioner. "It was especially great to see McInnis get the game-winning goal and take home MVP honors."

McInnis will play his first USHL game for the Phantoms Saturday, September 26, when Youngstown hosts the USA Hockey NTDP U-18 squad. Puck drop is set for 7:05p.m. at the Covelli Centre.
