USHL Releases 2015-16 Digital Media Guide

September 25, 2015 - United States Hockey League (USHL) News Release

The United States Hockey League released its USHL Media Guide in preparation for the 2015-16 season beginning this weekend. New this year is league and team information in an Interactive PDF format, allowing users to click throughout the guide for page references and websites.

The USHL partnered with Minnesota-based communications firm Touchpoint Media to organize the content and design the layout for modern media consumption. The league has plans to expand and update the Media Guide on a regular basis throughout the season. In addition to the release of the USHL Media Guide, the league announced the formation of a USHL Historical Society tasked with recovering pre-Tier 1 statistics, team lineage, historical facts, anecdotal information and more. The Historical Society includes notable former USHL pioneers including former player and team owner Jack Barzee, and one of the winningest coaches in league history, Dave Sicliano. Tim Harwood, Waterloo Black Hawks Broadcast/Media Director and USHL Media Manager Aaron Westendorf will also play key roles in the collection, verification and organization of the historical data.

"The rich history of the league, its players, coaches, owners and fans are really what sets the USHL apart from any other junior league in America," said Westendorf. "We look forward to working with this enthusiastic group of junior hockey enthusiasts on assembling information that will celebrate our league. I'd also like to thank all 17 USHL teams and their staff for helping make this project become a reality."

In order to view the most up to date version of the USHL Media Guide, media and fans should visit USHL.com and click on "Media Guide" under the "NEWS" tab throughout the season.
